So, I just bought my first Jeep Wrangler.
Its a 1994 soft top. I like it so far, only had it a week.
My first question, which I am sure I will have many, is how do I get the top off.
I have searched the internet for directions. If anyone would be wonderful enough to give me some tips or better yet lead me to a website for directions, that would be great !
If it's anything like the Jeep we used to drive, untie any straps from the roll bars/support bars, unsnap the top from the frame and pull it off. When you put it back on, wait until it's hot outside so the top will stretch. That'll make it easier for you.
Go ahead and plan on getting a bikini top too. That'll save you from the HOT HOT sun while in traffic.

Have fun!!!!
I have a bikini top and am dying to use it.
The jeep doesn't have "snaps", top seems to be on a slide track. Has to be a way of loosening the tension to be able to slide top out of track.
took doors off, removed windows, loosened-undid velcro ......... I am missing something
The top has a hard plastic edge that slips into a track that goes around the Jeep. Unzip the side windows and the rear window. Release the bottom of the back window and you should be able to see the track. I believe that are tensioner bars in the back (inside) that you have to loosen to get some slack in the top. You should be able to pull the bottom edge of the top out starting at an open end. Once the sides and back are out, you have to slide the whole top out of the front track. It helps to have a friend to assist.
I dont remember exactly how it loosens, I believe you just pull the bar down. If you want to PM me your email I have a picture of the frame work and can point out the tensioner bar I am referring to.

Unfortunately, there are times when buying used, you don't get a manual. This is one of those times.
