I remember seeing this poster quite a bit as a kid. It must have been from at least the very early 80s, if not sometime in the 70s. It was an illustrated, cartoonish poster of an exaggerated aerial view of Cincinnati, with all the landmarks present (it went up as far North as King's Island, I seem to recall.) I'm pretty sure it may have been affiliated with one of the big AM stations, possibly 55KRC or WLW, as I remember there being an airplane flying a banner with one or the other on it.

Can anyone help? Anyone remember this? I would love to find one, but can't find anything on Google or ebay.

Thanks,

John

I remember the poster. I saw it a lot. If you watch WKRP in Cincinnati it's hanging in the deejay booth. That show premiered in 1978, so it is from that year or earlier.
But I've not seen one for years. I go to a lot of antique shows and antique malls and garage sales but I've never seen one for sale.

Unless we're thinking of different posters, it was the local take on the famous New Yorker cover, View of the World from 9th Avenue. It may have been called Cincinnati: A View of the World.

I had a poster of the Cleveland version once upon a time.

Nope, that's not it. This was full color and had many human caricatures...

My cousin James Parsons who lives in Ohio, created this poster and many others for cities across the world. It was made in the 80's. On the bottom of each poster he put a small image of our family florist "parsons florist" located in Orangeville, Ontario, canada. Its been in the family since 1917 and Jim grew up here. I dont know if he has any posters left. we just lost the ones he stored in our basement as a result of some water damage. Hope that helps.

Default dating of poster

it may have been made earlier in the 70's we used to have one hanging at home too. Sorry I was really young when that show was on air.
