My favorite thing about Cincinnati is the public library.

...Not that I mean to slight the insightful replies I've gotten from Chicago and nearby, or the neat little classes provided by the library system of Kenton county, Kentucky, or the Dayton Metro library where I first got into libraries in 1945 or so, or my online friend who is a Detroit librarian, or my cousin that studied library science for use in Terre Haute (Indiana), or....

...Not to mention the Library of Congress with it's wealth of information, or the Brithsh Library, or what may be found in Vienna, the Vatican or elsewhere including just online....

The library in Cincinnati is one of the most used libraries in the country, a refreshing place to be and not without it's events both good and bad.

If I had to pick one thing, it would be the library.

Oktoberfest(s)!

But seriously ... All the friends I made there in the 20-some years I lived in the area. For me, that is the big pull in trying to come back.

Now I just need a job ...

For just one thing it would be Findlay Market. Both the market and the people there on weekends.

A generic thing would be the "built environment" and the topography

Hi all--

Chili. By far. You simply can't get it anywhere else.

A close second would be Graeter's.

One of the local grocery chains in suburban Philadelphia just started selling Graeter's.

I can't decide if that's a good thing ... or a bad thing. A good thing, probably, as long as I don't stop in every night for a pint of black raspberry chip.

The people. You know all of those conservative non-progressive people everyone else complains about. All of those people who keep Cincinnati 10 years behind everyplace else, may they never change. All of those people who have made my life in Cincinnati very enjoyable and rewarding.

Mt. Adams......then Washington Park and The Banks. And I love watching the Reds in GABP----but have to be high up so I can watch the river traffic between innings.
