Does anyone have a recommendation for installers/refinishers for wood floors in the area? I'm a member of Angie's list, but some recent experiences have made me dubious about their reviews.

Thanks in advance.

I can definitely recommend Bluford Jackson & Son Inc. 50 years ago when I bought my first home in Madeira I had them sand and refinish the hardwood floors before I moved in. Two years ago my brother had them replace the carpet in the first floor of his home here in Mason with hardwood. They did a fine job. It has been family owned and operated since 1919.

My father and Jackson senior were business acquaintances for years, my dad with his painting business and Jackson with the flooring. They never hesitated to recommend each other to their high-end clientele as they were confident in the work performed. Don't expect the lowest price, but do expect quality work. My brother and I were pleased to find the sons had taken over the Jackson business, probably in the 3rd generation by now. My brother already had dark hardwood in his kitchen and dinette area which was in good condition. However he did not want dark for the entire first floor, and Jackson recommended a different wood type with much lighter finish which when installed just blended in great.
