Wow, these stats really show how segregated Cincinnati is. And people decide which area to move to based on this? Get over your bigotry and stop the suburban sprawl.

What? Who said anything about bigotry? I've lived in 5 different homes in Cincinnati. I prefer the suburbs. Others like city life. I shouldn't have a choice? We should all live in the city to prove we are not bigots?
There will always be stats for different races in any given location. That doesn't make people bigots . . .
There are also stats for % male and % of females. That doesn't make us sexists, either . . .
Just facts of living in a diverse culture.

Using racial demographics to decide what schools are better than others perpetuates segregation and bigotry.
There are suburbs and then there's sprawl. Suburbs are connected by more than just a highway. Dead end streets, houses with nothing but a garage for a front door, people who don't talk to their neighbors. Your children are isolated, there's no where to go to socialize because without a car, you go nowhere. When you're too old to drive you'll be 20-30 minutes away from your family because all the young married people live in one area, the old people live in another, and it takes you 15 minutes each way just to get milk and traffic is jammed because streets don't make grid patterns, there wide and few, to move more cars, so forget about walking. So you never leave you neighborhood except for work. And you get all your information from TV.
That's been my experience, that's not an attack on you, personally.

No, this is the real world, and in the real world people decide where to move based on taxes, cost of living, affordability of housing, desirability of housing, maintenance of infrastructure, crime rate, superb schools and access to employment.

What kind of bigoted white majority elects black mayors and city council members? You don't know much about the history of Cincinnati.

Cincinnati was a decent city, but like many cities, its government forgot its sole reason for existing, which is to coordinate services, not provide them. When Cincinnati shifted from coordinating services to providing services, taxes skyrocketed, property taxes skyrocketed, crime increased, and the infrastructure collapsed. To make matters worse, the school district went stupid and collapsed. That drove both people and businesses from the city.

I student taught for 16 weeks in Cincinnati Public Schools and I wouldn't let my dog in one of their schools. The experience is one of the reasons I'm not a teacher today.

As far as suburban sprawl, I find it deplorable, but within the next 15 years, people will have no choice but to return to the city, but then you'll complain that the neighborhoods are segregated.
