It's Palm Sunday, and in Cincinnati that means you can go to the Sacred Heart Church in Camp Washington...to EAT!!! For this is the day that marks the church's long-running and gigantic spaghetti dinner. Parishioners start making the pasta, creating ravioli fillings, and cooking the sauce weeks in advance - that's right, everything is "homemade." That's why some folks are known to stake a claim even before the early Mass to be near the front of the line. You can not only chow down in the church's big basement, you can also take home "all you can carry," which means that a lot of the people who get their space in line early have stacks of take-out containers with them. Gluttony is encouraged, 'cause the church is feeding their treasury while you're feeding your face. In goyguy's world gluttony is a virtue, so what better place is there to indulge it than at a Catholic church (which still has services in Latin?)

Date/time: Sunday, April 17th, 2011; gather starting at 1:30 PM

Location: Sacred Heart Church; 2733 Massachusetts Ave (at Marshall Ave), Cincinnati (Camp Washington) 45225
[I-75 north or south to Hopple St; Left at end of ramp > Central Pkwy, right on Central Pkwy > Marshall, right to church ***OR*** Right at end of ramp > Colerain Ave, left on Colerain > Marshall, left to church.]

Who's invited: Nobody isn't. But because it'll be a "mob scene," try your best to be there by 1:45 so we C-D'ers can chat our way through the long wait together. Only the mayor is allowed to cut to the front of the line. Look for a "City-Data" sign being held up at the street corner by the church building.

Central Parkway isn't a Truck Route, so I'll be there in my pickup!

Things just never seem to work out to catch up with you guys. On that day I will be just over 5 weeks post-triple-bypass and don't think I will quite be traveling the 3 1/2 hours to get there yet. We'll see how things go. Maybe next time. Eat some spaghetti for me, will ya?

We're a week away - can't wait to be there! Even though it looks like there'll be "only" ravioli this time:
Sacred Heart dinner is for ravioli lovers | Cincinnati.com | cincinnati.com

Since they make 100,000 there should be plenty for all the C-D'ers.
