That company (it's predecessor was under another name) has a looooooooong history. It purchased all the old Albers/Big Star stores and the Ontario Food Centers in the early 1970's everywhere in Ohio (except Cincinnati) and renamed them Food World.

It also bought out several Big Bear stores in smaller towns in Ohio when that chain was going under. It owns Fulmer's in the Dayton Area.

Michael Needler, Sr. and the late Susan Needler founded Fresh Encounter in 1995, after the acquisition of CWC Companies from Carroll Cheek. CWC Companies was founded in 1964. The chain of grocery stores celebrated 50 years of continuous service to Ohio and Indiana residents in 2014, operating under the banners of Great Scot, Community Markets and Sack n’ Save. ... The combined companies will now operate 36 stores in Ohio and Indiana and employ approximately 2,200 people.
