Something is wrong with the description of the house. College Hill on the East Side of Providence (area around Brown University) is fine. A good two unit on College Hill would be around 5-600K depending on size, etc.

I'm sorry for any confusion and whatnot Hollytree, but I'm referring to College Hill in Cincinnati, Ohio.

College Hill used to be one of the nicest neighborhoods in the city of Cincinnati but now it is one of the fastest declining. While there are still some very nice streets and neighborhoods within College Hill I believe Ambrose is not one of those. It may be worth a look though to see if its an area you are comfortable with.

I don't think so either, I believe it is off Hamilton, a few blocks south of N.Bend Rd if it is the street I am thinking of, not too far from where Schuler's Wigwam used to be.

Northside was originally on my initial list when we started planning our move back in September, since then I have heard conflicting stories about the area but the majority of Northside opinions appear to be good ones...I might have to reopen that possibility

My best childhood friend lived on Ambrose. It is 2 streets south of Northbend Rd. When I was last in town I heard that there was some condo development that is supposed to be built there. Ambrose has a mixture of older residents (folks that bought in the 60's/70's), younger couples and I think some renters. That particular street and some of the streets near Mc Cauly (sp?) Catholic school have never been bad areas. College Hill is very hit or miss though. There are some VERY nice streets that are near the high school and north of North Bend.

College Hill is Cincinnati's oldest neighborhood.
Also, College Hill is very diverse. Former council woman Bobby Sterne and others have a community group that works to keep College Hill from becoming Avondale. Some areas DO have issues like Cedar ave. and the streets that are immediately off Cedar. I do think the neighborhood gets a bad rap from people that don't live there (mainly the posters here : )

Big Blue, the condo group pulled out unfortunately late last year. I have always said if I moved out of Hartwell, I would only move to College Hill. I say that because they have stong residential involvement and many volunteer groups that keep fresh energy in College Hill. They are used as an example MANY MANY times by City reps as an example for other City neighborhood of how to get things done in your neighborhoods. I personally just want to be in a community that cares as much as their volunteers do, join their garden club and hang out at the COllege Hill Coffee SHop everyday.
I love college hill. They have new CPS schools being built in the area and a new top notch recreation facility as well. There are bad streets everywhere...if you are interested in College hill, check out the College Hill coffee shop on the corner of N. Bend & Hamilton, there are many community leaders holding meetings there in the evenings...they know the neighborhood better than any of us on this forum (PLUS they have great coffee)

I love college hill. They have new CPS schools being built in the area and a new top notch recreation facility as well. There are bad streets everywhere...if you are interested in College hill, check out the College Hill coffee shop on the corner of N. Bend & Hamilton, there are many community leaders holding meetings there in the evenings...they know the neighborhood better than any of us on this forum (PLUS they have great coffee)
