Hello to all! By January 1, 2010 I will be moving to Cincinnati. I have visited a few times and absolutely loved it! I would like to live in an area thats African-American population out weighs the rest.

What's your price range and what's your crime tolerance? Unfortunately, the majority-black neighborhoods tend to have more crime issues.

Mt Auburn has some
great housing stock with fantastic views of the city. It's also very convenient to downtown. Prospect Hill is probably the nicest part of the neighborhood (Milton St, Boal St, etc.). If you'll be working downtown, it's a 5-10 minute drive to the CBD.
Depending on the level of "urban" that you're looking for, there are some really great loft condos in the Over the Rhine which I'm sure that you can get for a steal these days. Vine Street (just north of Central Ave) is going through an urban revitalization. There are tons of great shops and restaurants within walking distance.
A little further out, Bond Hill and Avondale have some of the largest AA populations, but I'd rather recommend something more like Kennedy Heights or Pleasant Ridge. Both areas have substantial AA populations (but are not exclusively AA). Both areas also have great housing stock at reasonable prices.

Avondale is the obvious choice, but you might check out Kennedy Heights and Lower Price Hill.
