I-10/Americas Interchange Construction, (Eastside Spahgetti Bowl) El Paso, Texas

P.E. Structural Consultants is providing structural design of the western and northern approaches to the IH-10 EB to LP 375 NB connector. The superstructures use prestressed concrete Tx54 Girders; substructure will include aesthetically treated concrete hammerhead and straddle bents with column heights up to 75ft supported by mono-shafts. PESC staff are working from our home office in Austin, and also are traveling on a regular basis to the El Paso project office.

PESC staff can't even find a reason to stay in in EP with such a big project they are just traveling from their home office?

So what else you got besides Desert Mountains and Cocrete (something any big Southwestern city would have)? Your freeway contest is like a field full of dead horses. Every city has freeways, yes Texas builds them bigger, but at the end of the day their just ribbons of concrete. Most people don't joyride freeways for their asthetics. How about downtown, neighborhoods and their characteristics, remarkable hotels, restaurants, charm, historical areas, and shopping. You know... the true characteristics of a city. What gives El Paso the edge?

That is correct hacker, they live and work in Austin and with the plenty of daily flights between the two cities, it's a piece of cake! Same thing going on with Ft. Worth's 5 level interchange, also Phoenix based SUNDT who is building the Trans Mountain Freeway with the I-10 interchange fly in and out of El Paso.

Uhm, false. Most people were bothered with all the traffic delays it caused. I don't know a single person that was 'excited' about it. Most knew that it was a project that needed to be done and were happy when it was finished. It's just a big concrete structure that moves traffic with some nice landscaping. Nothing to get excited about.

Good, I'd like to learn that there is more to el paso than concrete structures. Looking forward to it.
