Sleepy Hollow wetlands is right next to the Trinity River. The Trinity River was already diverted, they diverted the river because Dallas had a huge flood in 1908. The river was very close to Downtown Dallas, the Great Flood of 1908 flood waters was 2 miles wide. The river was moved to create a flood palin and make sure the river will not flood Downtown Dallas.
