Norfolk, Va Vs. Raleigh, Nc.

Comparable in metro population, raleigh has 100,000 more residents than norfolk proper, raleigh is one of the fastest growing cities in the country with an interesting downtown. About 3 hours away from each other, Some economic ties between the two cities, but who has the better skyline?

Raleigh

Norfolk

I would say Norfolk. It has a nicer skyline than Raleigh.

Yeah, so would I. I've lived in both Raleigh and Norfolk, and I pick Norfolk.

FWIW, I don't think this is worth discussing. Are these two cities really about their skylines? And, does this make one better than the other anyway?
Why does it matter?
As a resident of DT Raleigh, I am much more excited about the rapidly growing street level activity among the city's 5 downtown districts than I am about any current or future "skyline".
Raleigh's tallest building is the RBC tower: A 33 story bank building with 11 floors of condos at the top. I don't like the archictecture of it but I do like that there are residences in it.
It appears as if the tallest building in Norfolk is that reddish/brown building. I don't like it either. Its shape is almost identical to the Wachovia tower in Raleigh but I really don't like the color of the building. But, then again, that's just my subjective view.
If I lived in Norfolk, I would care a lot more about the waterfront than I would care about the skyline.

Well, I'm not a Norfolk native, and I'm a skyline fan, so I care about Norfolk's growing skyline..Want to debate street level activity between the two? Your obviously just not a skyline fan.

Raleigh. Never been to Northfolk. From the pictures its skyline looks like a suburban office park.
