I wouldn't take Fresno for Omaha either!

But the state of California probably has contributed more to America than any other state due to its influence on the nation via television\ movies\ progressive politics, cultural trends, etc.

You can keep your "progressive" politics

What percentage of pop culture from the 1950s or 1890s do we consider to be a significant part of our daily lives today?

50 years or 100 years from now, people will have their own pop culture and social politics which will be very different from ours. The great bulk of what we have today will be forgotten or irrelevant to the masses by then.

I thought it was absolutely hilarious, yes. Cool, thanks for the corn.

It's interesting you decided to criticize the first half of my post but left out the part where I acknowledged Nebraska's contributions.

You have to admit that rabbits are pretty cool animals I'd pet the hell out of the rabbit I posted!

What's there to know about Fresno? Omaha and Fresno have roughly the same population (both city limits and metro area) and is surrounded by this:

However, Omaha churns out more GDP than Fresno. From what I've heard about Omaha, it sounds like a real gem in that region in the country. However, Fresno isn't that bad either; access to Yosemite, Kings/Sequoia Canyon, etc etc. Wouldn't be the first place in the SJ Valley I'd move, but its not as horrible as most people say.

So lets trade

Good point; on second thought I'd rather live in Fresno or for that matter anywhere in California compared to Nebraska!

I sure hope this is sarcasm. How is T.I. a "right" contribution to our culture. If anything it is just a contender in the demise of quality music. Snoop dogg was better than 90% of the rappers out there today. What has the South given us in the last decade or so? Mike Jones? I'm not that into rap/hip hop but the only good thing to come out of the south was Outkast. Quality rap/hip hop is dead or underground at this point, and that only consisted of east coast and west coast artists.

Plus you have Werner Enterprises, one of the countries biggest truckload carriers. In fact, the Midwest is kind of our countries Trucking capital. I'd wager that the majority of our transportation companies are out of the Midwest.
