Where would you rather vacation, its interesting because they're in three different states. Three different and unique cities, but offer some very similar things.

Money aside, just in general.

Criteria:
- Where would you rather vacation for two weeks? And why?
- Which one appeals to you the most?
- What do you expect to experience out of that place?
- What season of the year would you visit?
- Would you go with family or by yourself?
- What would you visit in this place?
- Anything additional you want to add about any of the following places, you're welcome to do so

If you had said San Diego I think it would've been far more interesting as it is closer in climate and personality to both Honolulu and Miami.

I was just actually thinking that myself right after I made this thread. You're right San Diego is a better match up, Los Angeles is just a giant compared to the two others on personality and feel.

I think I would tire of Honolulu after 2 weeks. I have heard too many people who went to Hawaii come back saying it was not nearly worth the price they paid and that a quick getaway to the Bahamas or Grand Cayman would have been better.

Miami/S FL? Having spent a very long time there, nada! I love going for very short periods of time (like 3 days or less). The people, the atmosphere, and the culture down there down right bother me and for 2 weeks what is there to do? Mango's every night?

I chose Los Angeles. I have never been to CA. If I spent 2 weeks in LA, I would make a complete tourist trip out of it. First you have the Hollywood/LA experience. You have so many studios that you can visit. There are beaches, and they are CA beaches (something I have never experienced). I think I would love OC beaches, but you'd have to pay me to spend more than 10 minutes at a time in the water, hehe. There is the Getty Center, LAMOCA, tons of other museums, theaters, great restaurants (well all 3 have great restaurants), San Diego would be a ~2-3 day diversion, Ventura County, would have to spend ~2-3 days in Santa Barbara, would have to visit Palm Springs for a day, etc.

The only downside would be navigating all of the traffic to enjoy the vacation. Wow, that just made me wonder if I could even enjoy living there, haha.

I would go with the USVI. Cheaper than Honolulu. Much prettier. Cheaper shopping- jewellery and stuff. Nice Dutch towns and old forts

I been to FL so many times it hurts. It's a beautiful place to visit indeed, but the "vacay" type of beauty is mainly coastal- There's nothing really remarkably beautiful once you go inland. Key West is really beautiful and interesting though- Much more so than Mia/Ft Lau (I think)

Hawaii on the other hand is stunningly beautiful from the coast to the middle of the island (pick any island). Honululu is arguably the most beautiful city in the nation (as far as natural scenery goes)

For a city, I totally agree with you on this for sure. Honolulu is the prettiest city probably in the United States.

I've been to ALL three destinations (and currently live in LA).

I voted for Honolulu; however, I think the way the choices were framed is a bit of a misnomer.

Not quite an apples to apples comparison to compare:
1) Miami/Ft. Lauderdale/Key West vs. 2) Honolulu vs. 3) Los Angeles

I've driven Miami to the Key West. That is like a 4 hour drive. By that measure it should be LA/San Diego and Oahu/Maui or something like that.

My vote for Honolulu is largely for its sheer beauty and exoticism....as close to tropical paradise as can be found in USA (albeit no place it perfect).
