Which has a more urban vibe overall, and which has the better dining and nightlife scene?

Note: Forgot to add a poll, could an admin add one if possible? Thanks.

Seattle has a metro area with about 1.5 million people more than Indianapolis so it wins in every category. Hopefully someday Indianapolis can be what Seattle is, but that won't likely happen anytime soon.

Indianapolis actually has a great downtown for its size. If anyone wants to see a *great* photo thread of the downtown, then follow these links below. Nonetheless, Seattle is in an MSA of over 3 million people and a CSA of over 4 million people. Indianapolis doesn't even have 2 million people in the area. It's not a very good comparison. Nonetheless, on a per capita basis, Indianapolis might be accomplishing more with what they have in relation to Seattle.

Elements of Urbanism: Indianapolis 2009 | Metro Jacksonville

Roadtrip: Indianapolis | Metro Jacksonville

They have a canal/riverwalk area lined with new apartments, museums, parks, memorials, a hospital, a private people mover, etc. It can be seen above and below.

This really showcases the canal. I can't find the one thread that is recent that shows the canal and all of its activity. Oh well....

Seattle all the way. Indianapolis is boring and tiny. And I think Seattle is highly overrated.

Indianapolis is a pretty big city. But Seattle is just more densly populated. Seattle has smog, lots of polution, and it is cloudy there 3/4 of the year.

Indianapolis has a great skyline, and it is famous for the colts, the pacers, the indians, and the world famous Indy 500 race. The people in Indy are very friendly, and it has beautiful State parks.

Seattle is for me, living in the core of the city offers a more urban experience. Seattle for it's size does quite well on this metric, probably only behind NYC, Chicago, Philly, SF, Boston, DC, and LA in this regard
