What do you think about each city on Cost of Living/Taxes and types of jobs and stuff to do in each of these cities. What are some of the Pro's and Cons of living in Indianapolis compared to Chicago and vice versa.
Can we have some specifics instead of just pointing the finger at a city? Looking for some indepth answers not just Indy or Chicago. Need some detail please

I've never been to either, but Chicago is a world class N. American city, and is on a completely different level than Indy. Supposedly Chicago's north shore suburbs are some of the most desireable places to live in all of America. Indy overall is probably cheaper I'm sure, but Chicago has one of the best COL-QOL ratios in the country.

Chicago. For the (probably) obvious reasons. Much larger, better transit, world class, more nightlife, parks system, architecture, food scene, dating scene, sports scene, music scene, Lake Michigan, more in line with my political standings (progressive in general), 200 neighborhoods and 77 'community areas' that give the city a huge variety of unique places to live and experience.
inianapolis can in no way shape or form compete with chicago which is a world class city. it's just common sense. would some people prefer indianapolis? of course it's a great city, and not everyone wants to live in such a big city. but that still doesn't make indianaplis better by any type of objective criteria.
indianapolis is supposed to be a beautiful city though, kurt vonnegut liked it.
Chicago does have more of the pains associated with a major city, though, like a large amount of traffic, less space, more congestion, etc., but I think the pros for Chicago outweigh its negatives. In any event, it's not really an apples-to-apples comparison.

Chicago does beat Indy in just about any category of course except for taxes and COL esp. if you are single. If you are looking to raise a family though, I think more people would choose Indianapolis as it is geared more towards family.
