I've always been interested in "Music City," and I like Louisville's old-timey feel. And NOLA is NOLA. I can't say I'd care to live in the other cities, though.
Why did you pick these particular cities? Because they are similar in size? Here is my order:
1. Nashville: Nice, vibrant city. Pretty good economy and it also has character.
2. New Orleans: I love New Orleans for the food, music, culture and architecture. But the crime rate is high and it is still struggling a bit economically, so even though I love the place and like to visit, I have some hesitation about living there.
3. Jacksonville: I would love the mild winters and access to the water. Don't know a ton about the city itself.
4. Charlotte: Decent climate and seems to be getting more dense and vibrant, but still strikes me as a touch bland.
5. San Antonio: Visited once and thought it seemed like a pretty nice place.
6. Oklahoma City: seems up and coming, but not a ton going on. Not crazy about the location.
7. Louisville: Has some decent character, but is a bit chilly for my taste.
8. Memphis: I like the history of music and the food, but the crime rate is very high and it seems to not have good political leadership.
9. Kansas City: Visited briefly once, but it is kind of removed from everyone I know.
10. Indianapolis: Don't know much about it except it is too cold.
1-San Antonio (My favorite Texas city. Lots to do, gorgeous Riverwalk, etc.)
2-Kansas City (I go to KC all the time; it's a really underrated city.)
3-Charlotte (Visited once, liked it a lot.)
4-Indianapolis (Same as Charlotte.)
5-New Orleans (Love the culture and the food.)
6-Oklahoma City (another underrated city, but OK just isn't my favorite state, plain and simple.)
7-Memphis (Had an awesome time in Memphis when I visited, but not a fan of the location.)
8-Nashville (Same as Memphis.)
9-Jacksonville (Ehhhhh...)
10-Louisville (Did not like Louisville much when I visited, plain and simple. I'd rather live in Lexington or Frankfort.)
Ideally, if I had to pick from this list, I'd live in San Antonio for the winter and KCMO for the summer.
