The same website the other poster got his numbers from. Houston is much larger when you add the whole metro.

Also, another minor issue I have with these kinds of reports overall, is that unless they take an actual census of every building in the downtown(which is not done btw), its going to be difficult to get a number that is 100% accurate.

So while they are very interesting to see, we must take them with a small grain of salt.
I think it's only Dallas.

I dont question you at all, but the way your source titled SJ is way off.

Downtown San Jose is one thing, but the whole of Silicon Valley is several times more than just 7 Million.

The most reputable source I know of pegs SVs office market at 107 Million sq ft total, admittedly that's all classes, not just Class A.
On the list it had a Downtown Category and a Suburban Category. That number was from the downtown category.

That was from last year. Look at the new one from Sept 2011.

Accurate is one thing, but the numbers for Houston are wildly fluctuating. That is a 20M sq ft difference.

wow, so Houston's number actually went down in this study over a year?? Without the demolition of any buildings and with the construction of a new one??? I thought the sq footage goes up when you add a building?

Yeah, Colliers lost major cred there.

Just noticed that ATL went down by 8M sq feet too. How odd
