You have a lot of Central Jersey counties as part of North Jersey.

I don't care for geological definitions for me there is only North NJ and South NJ and all the counties not listed are southern NJ. Just compare the 5 regions already there on the poll, please.

NYers are generally very friendly albeit a bit loud and sometimes crass.

Manhattan is the sun which everything else orbits.

But few places in the country can match the scenery, abundance of nature and natural amenities, history, academics and food of the Hudson Valley.

That being said, I also love Suffolk County (Long Island) with its beaches and harbors.

The entire premise of this is ridiculous. He lists Manhattan and Upstate, and the criteria is what has better suburbs? Upstate are suburbs to Manhattan. Same with LI and North Jersey.

To be honest, nothing really separates any of these geographically. The biggest difference may be the Hudson Valley to the rest because of the mountains, otherwise its a wash. Even LI and Jersey beaches.

Better weather? All areas are the same.

Better food? schools? They all have good schools.

This has to be the most retarded grouping of areas I have seen.

Good comparison. Clearly shows how large the NYC area is where you can split it in this way.

No, some of the mainland counties get double or more snow than Long Island.

Not always. The 12/26/10 snow storm dump most in LI and Central Jersey.

How can Staten Island be connected to Northern New Jersey when most of its residents are Brooklyn transplants?
