Hello everyone. I am from Milwaukee, WI but I left my heart in Cleveland, OH. I do like Milwaukee, but it never felt like "home" to me. I have noticed a lot of similarities between Cleveland and Milwaukee, but also a few differences (Actually I have almost come to believe that Cleveland could be Milwaukee's long lost "twin"). Anyway, I am planning a long awaited move to Cleveland, and I would like to see what everyone's thoughts are on these two cities. Here is some of the criteria that I am looking for...
1) Economy
2) Cost of Living
3) Safety
4) That Urban "Feel" (Which city feels larger and more urban to you?)
DELETED - NO SKYLINE COMPETITIONS
6) Public Transportation
7) Diversity
8) Nightlife
9) Dating/Social Scene (Also, which city is more accepting of "transplants"?)
10) Weather
11) Beaches/Summer Activities
12) Shopping
13) And Anything Else I May Have Forgotten
1) Economy-Cleveland
2) Cost of Living-Milwaukee
3) Safety-Milwaukee
4) That Urban "Feel" (Which city feels larger and more urban to you?)- Cleveland
6) Public Transportation-Milwaukee
7) Diversity-Milwaukee
8) Nightlife-Cleveland
9) Dating/Social Scene (Also, which city is more accepting of "transplants"?)-Cleveland
10) Weather-Tie
11) Beaches/Summer Activities-Tie
12) Shopping-Cleveland
HUH??? Are you aware that Cleveland has an extensive rail transit system, and Milwaukee has none? It's not even close in this category-- Cleveland sweeps.

Having been to Milwaukee on business and for leisure, I think it is a decent city. It does remind me of a smaller version of Cleveland, but not on all fronts. Cleveland is much more cosmopolitan - and yet, it's also has much more of that urban grit too. I'm a native Clevelander who has lived in various cities over the years ... L.A., Denver, Charlotte & Columbus. I always end up back in metro Cleveland. It's hard for me to live elsewhere because the quality of living is superb in Cleveland.
The city is rife with world class cultural venues, world acclaimed and top notch hospitals & healthcare. The city has a large assortment of suburbs to choose from - some of the wealthiest residential communities in the US are suburbs of Cleveland. We have dynamic urban districts & neighborhoods, a gorgeous park system that encircles the entire metro area ( Cleveland Metroparks ) and the majestic Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Our public transportation system is large, efficient and award winning.
It's all here in Cleveland, I hope you do choose to make this fine city your next home. Welcome!
That tells me nothing!!! So you pretty much have no reason why MKE wins I assume?
