Which city would you rather live in, if given the choice...

Quality of life, weather, entertainment, schools, crime, etc... Our income is $80-100k, so cost of living, etc also is important.

Which would you choose?

Asheville.

Most of St. Pete is a run down, crime ridden dump. The schools are pretty terrible, save for private. It's also very densely populated and traffic can be a pain.

Yeah, at a density of 3,967 psm...I think that little statement kinda discredits the other nonsense in your post.

Asheville is a lesser run down city but St. Petersburg is also in a much bigger metro area which gives you more amenities. If you're moving for a job or to be close to family, you don't have to live in the city limits of St. Pete.

Asheville has nice scenery, and is overall nice and safer(waaay safer than St.Pete) town. But like the poster above me said, St.Pete being in a larger metro, and St.Pete being a decent sized city it's self, it has more amenities than Asheville.

For this area, it is.

And if you think my post in nonsense, come down and visit it for yourself. It's a hellhole with one nice little area on the bay. If you disagree, you're wrong. End of story.

Forgot to add... our income will be about $20k more in St Pete than in Asheville, if that makes much of a difference in how you voted. Also, my retirement in FL would be significantly better than what's offered in Asheville. I should have said this in the initial post.

Oh, I would work in N St Pete, so we'd probably live in Dunedin or Safety Harbor.

Dunedin is a lovely community, gentrified and fun.
