Palm Springs is very small city, mainly geared toward older people, retirees and has recently become a gay mecca. Lots of golf courses. I think you might run out of things to do there because it's pretty isolated...if you like the desert, then you will like it there, if not, then you will hate it there. And it's very hot in the summer.
