The New York Times posted data it composed pertaining to government subsidies and how much is given to whom.
My state, California is ranks 4th
the biggest industries it subsidizes are Agriculture, Film, and Technology; all obviously our biggies.
San Francisco gave $22 million alone to twitter!
Texas is the largest spending 3 time more money subsidizing companies than the second state of Michigan who got the automakers bailout, $19 Billion!
whats surprising about Texas is that it doesn't subsidize oil as much as I'd thought it would.
Whats surprising or expected about your state/city's subsidized industry?
Indiana has been leading the midwest in job growth for the past couple of years.
Ironically on that chart we arent pushing Tax credits and taxpayer money giveaways out the wazoo like our neighbors Illinois/Michigan/Ohio are doing haha.
My Man Mitch! created the best business state in the midwest and 5th in the country.
Also made our state a Right to Work state and has lowered our taxes too. Property taxes are capped at 1% of your homes value in Indiana and our inheritance tax is being phased out

Funny that Indiana spends more per capita and per $ of state budget than Illinois.

The per capita state spending for these subsidies (or the amount the state is spending relative to its population) is *higher* in Indiana ($142/person) than its neighbor Illinois ($117/person), and Indiana spent nearly DOUBLE the amount in corporate income tax credits, deductions or rebates compared to Illinois ($875 million vs. $452 million)... So what about those tax credits?
In fact, Indiana subsidy spending, per capita, is the 7th highest in the 12 Midwestern states.
Maybe you should read all the data before jumping to conclusions...
Michigan's film subsidies used to be higher. Our governor also wants to increase subsidies to alternative energy and have 25% of the state's energy supplied by it. Obviously none of that is going toward our roads...
