Meaning... if we (America) could completely start from scratch where should a "Dubai" type city be?? This city virtually came out of no where and is one of the modern marvels of today's architecture and planning etc. Where could we just start a new city? And which city should get a "Dubai makeover"??

For me I would say somewhere like Louisiana, Arkansas, or Oklahoma would be a great place to start a megacity.

If we were to renovate any city to be like Dubai I would nominate Houston

It's nice to boast about sleek, modern architecture, but the fact of the matter is that Dubai is plagued with a glut of empty and foreclosed properties. In that sense, I would never want a city to emulate Dubai.

Somewhere in the Gulf region of the US where the weather is pretty good (save hurricanes) most of the year IMO.

Las Vegas, it's in the desert and it's already over the top so it's a perfect candidate. Now of they could only figure out that water problem.
