Interesting article I came across on The Weather Channel website:

10 Smartest Cities in North America - weather.com

I think the list pretty accurate.

Weather Channel? Anyway, for those who dont like slideshows...

1: Boston
2: San Francisco
3: Seattle
4: Vancouver
5: New York City
6: Washington, DC
7: Toronto
8: Chicago
9: Los Angeles
10: Montreal

I expected to see Minneapolis on the list since it usually ranks at or near the top in most literate cities in the US

I agree. I thought Minneapolis would (and should) crack the top 10 as it often does.

Interesting how the top cities are the most liberal... hmmmmm.. i wonder if the ranking machines have any conflict of interest?

I grew up thinking Harvard was the it... until i noticed the communist/socialist agenda it promotes. And guess which students/professors/professionals run the ranking mills. I'm happy to not have been close to any of the ivy's...

I'm sorry, but what exactly is their criteria for ranking how "smart" a city is? I thought it might be something like mean IQ/Educational attainment of the populous, but now I'm just confused.

Thank you! I hate the trend to everything being a slideshow. Just give us a list.

Boston, Minneapolis, Seattle, San Francisco, Ottawa, Washington D.C (yes it should be up here), Atlanta (ive heard at least 35% of people in this city have college degrees), Columbus, Vancouver and Victoria B.C, Toronto, Portland, Saint Paul, Madison, Austin, Tallahassee, Nashville, Raleigh-Winston Salem, Pittsburgh, Des Moines.

All cities up there ive heard are fairly good cities in education.

Oh yeh...Liberty University and Oral Roberts University
Of course the only schools that produce alums like Harvard and Yale are Princeton, Penn, Columbia and Cornell. But how about Notre Dame and Villanova? Both are rather conservative by Ivy standards, and both are very well respected.
