You visit Philly you feel like you been to Philly. Its such a soulful city. Atlanta is too generic and too far south for my taste.

Another Black person may prefer Oakland because of the mountains and diversity.

This thing where all black people should like Atlanta is not true.
I'm just generalizing more or less. Personally I prefer cities like Philly, Baltimore, and DC for example since I think they have more to offer culturally than Atlanta but that's just my personal preference.

Atlanta Black Demographics
I know the Atlanta MSA has a larger black population than the Philly MSA but I was just talking about city proper. Their city limits size are very comparable.
Philadelphia: 135 sq. miles; Atlanta: 131.8 sq. miles.

The DC/Baltimore area would have the highest amount of blacks in the closest proximity if you included them together.

Baltimore's proximity to Washington DC puts it in the same market commercially. It also makes the combined Black population the second largest in the US after New York City with 2.2 million combined.

from the same website you used.

Not really fair to combine both Baltimore's and Washington DC's black population and put it up against Atlanta which is only one MSA. That would be like combining Chicago's and Milwaukee's black population and then bragging about how it's so much larger than Detroit's black population. Do you see what I mean?

If Chicago was on this thread it would kill all these cities.

True, Atlanta doesn't have the history or urban fabric of Philly, but generic it is not. Anyone who says that hasn't truly experienced Atlanta IMO.

In terms of Black culture specifically, I'm not sure why a Black person would dislike what Atlanta has to offer.
