Not a ranking of the best schools, just the ones with the world's most famed clout. Would've come in handy a few weeks ago when there were people arguing Georgetown is more well known around the world than University of Chicago because of college sports.

I wouldn't know. I've never watched a second of college sports before in my life, even when I went to school in the burnt orange football obsessed mecca. Avoided it like a plague.

I know UCLA is an awesome school, but #8 surprises me a bit. Thought they'd be near 20..very cool.

College basketball around this time is amazing, especially when some big shot cocky players who the national media can't stop talking about get owned by some no name guy from a smaller school nobody's ever heard of. That's probably my favorite part. You should try it sometime....the tournament. Seriously, it can be pretty exciting even if you don't watch college sports. Games are always great.

Princeton is 30 min from Philly and in Phillys media market and spear of influence. But New York claims it. What bull. But moving on. Ion wanna start a argument over it. So lets leave it where it is.

Under Bay Area, you missed UCSF at #40. Added it for you.

Baltimore has the same issue. It'll only get worse.

I have a friend getting a PhD at Princeton. It seems when they look for jobs, they look at New York a bit more, but when they look to party, they look at Philadelphia more.
