Is that a Swede hoisting the cup? Not quite sure what that has to do with Michigan Hockey.

The Yankees have the most championships, but I wouldnt call New York the best baseball state or city.

Professional sports championships have no bearing whatsoever on anything other than their own franchise.

Most of the players on that roster were Canadian and Swedish.

Detroit cant even sell out these days. So much for the self-proclaimed "Hockeytown."

Hockeytown = St Paul. End of discussion.

Buffalo is more of a hockey town than Detroit is. The Sabres have zero Cups.

For the record, im from Upstate NY but a massive Ranger fan.

I despise Buffalo but they love their Sabres.

Being from St. Paul I think it's cool you'd say that. However, Warroad, MN is the real Hockeytown USA.

Ive been to the X, and around the TC.

Hockey is huge in Upstate NY at all levels, so it was really cool to see that out there, and see that other cities/states appreciate hockey like we do.

I love Minnesota.

You really dont think places in Mass, NY or MN wouldnt match or surpass the attendance record if their stadiums allowed 100,000+?

Buffalo has the record for an NHL game from the 08 Winter Classic at Ralph Wilson Stadium (71,217). You can be sure if the capacity was larger theyd have the record.

Hahaha, so just because the Michigan has a larger FOOTBALL stadium it makes them better at HOCKEY? By the way TCF has 51,000

This thread is hockey states in general, not most Cups by an American NHL team.

To me there's really no comparison between the two. If you want to compare NHL franchises, that's one thing, but hockey itself on all accounts is much much bigger in Minnesota overall than Michigan.

Exactly. Its self-proclaimed from their success in the 90s. Cheap.

Detroit is a Lions town first and foremost. Even now with the Tigers, the Red Wings are third fiddle. Pistons blow.

Go ahead and see what dominates sports radio in Detroit.
