It's always cool to look at polls and surveys and see what others are thinking (and I really mean it when I said cool) but ultimately our perceptions are our own. I wouldn't want someone suggesting food to me, they probably have different tastes, so they can keep their suggestions to themselves. I'm the same way about cities, clothing, TV Shows, News, Politics, brand of toothpaste, cars, climate, scenery, and so much else on as I am with food.
I'll keep it 100 though, I find some cities intolerable (mostly the blighted, ugly as sin, post industrial, smelley, and dirty ones). It's true I do but from now on, I'll just act like those places don't even exist. Even in threads about them, just wont even acknowledge their existence. Only to talk about the other city in the comparison, no point in talking about places that you just plain don't like, I suppose.

Check out the cross-tabs. White Republicans just despise Los Angeles.
Cool.
LA gets the double whammy from holier-than-thou religious right types who see it as a cesspool of sin and vice and holier-than-thou urban/liberal types who see it as a cesspool of self-absorption and sprawl.

This PROVES C-D and the public have totally different opinions. I mean, even Phoenix was looked upon positively.
This proves nothing. Most people have never even set foot in half of the cities listed. "Favorable and Unfavorable" what kind of credentials are those? And remember this is a Sample of data most likely from a small amount of people, not a census. I like to see them ask more specific questions on Nightlife, Weather, Shopping, Scenery, etc. Think that's a better then asking some if you do or don't generally like a city.....

I know. The weird thing is, I've always thought the sin & vice and self-absorption & sprawl give the place its unique charm.
