Northern California and New England are both great parts of the country. However, if you could only live in one which would you choose? Would you prefer 4 seasons of weather in New England or the sunny and cool year-round weather that Northern California provides? How would you compare these two parts of the country? Which one would be a better fit for you and why?

I like New England. Maybe the prettiest part of the U.S. But the winters are brutal. No. Cal. is also scenic and much milder winters. No. Cal. wins this one.

Depends where in which... rural, vs big city? If it's Napa vs Concord, I'd probably go with Napa. Or am I stuck in Ukiah, ... or in Humbold Hippie Land... Northern California is one of the most beautiful places in the country, but... again, depends where you are at.

For ocean experience: New England. For mountain and forest: Nocal.

Is Humboldt really that bad? I was there as a kid and remember it being beautiful.

No, it's beautiful, I'm just not into the hippie and gutter punk scene there, kind of overwhelming.

They are both great places, but the weather in NorCal is much more milder than in New England, so I pick NorCal.

This.

I lived in Vermont for a few years and loved it for the 6 months that is was light and not so brutally cold.
The other 6 took their toll . . .

Northern California. One of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Big Sur is so relaxing and beautiful.
