Guess this is a way to remove the bias for the cities with the most foreign population and business centers.
Total Leisure Visitors: 21,370,000
Cities with highest % of total leisure travelers to the U.S.**:
NYC: 34.9%.
Orlando 15.9%
Miami 15.7%
Honolulu: 13.1%
Las Vegas 12.9%
Los Angeles 11.8%
San Francisco 10.9%
Washington DC 5%
Boston - 3.6%
Chicago - 3%
San Diego 2.7%
Seattle 1.7%
Philadelphia 1.7%
Houston 1.5%
Atlanta 1.3%
So it changes a bit.

What do those percentages represent?
It's not each cities percentage of all leisure travellers to the US because those numbers add up to 133%(and there's other places in the US).
It's not each cities percentage of all lesisure travellers to the US because those numbers add up to 133%(and there's other places in the US).
Travelers going to multiple destinations caused the percentage greater than 100%.
From the page:
Quote:
* Denotes Multiple Response.
All percentages listed in this profile can be converted into estimated numbers by multiplying the percentage by 32,038,000 (total overseas travelers to the U.S.), 21,369,000 (total leisure-vac. travelers), or 4,934,000 (total business travelers).
And the percent of overseas leisure travelers going to destinations not on that list are minuscule. Nearly all leisure travelers go to the above destinations.

And to the person that clearly didn't like this comment^ but unsurprisingly was too COWARDLY to identify themselves when sending me their little nasty rep comment( which I found hilarious btw LOL), the stat below is worlds more important to me than how many tourists from Spain or Malaysia we have snapping pics of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Top 5 Cities for Foreign Investment in the World, 2014
1 London, UK
2 New York, USA
3 San Francisco, USA
4 Houston, USA
5 Los Angeles, USA
while that is a great stat on the whole not sure that is directly tied to foreign travel per se
Isn't this about # of foreign visitors as a topic though?
Well, as Louis XVI just pointed out, this stat includes business travelers as well and many of those are investors and I just revealed a survey that gives us an idea of which US cities those foreign investors think are going to give them the best return on their investment.
Houston is especially impressive to me to be ranked 4th in the world and I'll bet that every Houstonian that reads this thread prefers to be 4th in the world in foreign investment than to be 4th in the US as far as foreign visitors.

Being popular for foreign real estate investment(which is what your link was for--not total foreign investment) can have its' perks and drawbacks--look at Vancouver BC's real estate bubble. A lot of Latin Americans buy second homes in Houston these days, that's what that stat represents.

don't disagree but is not the topic
SF based on these (Louis number) numbers would have 2.3 million leisure travelers and 600K business travelers
Looked at my HT as well 362K Leisure and 315K business
Now NYC 7.6 million leisure and 1.9 million business

Cool, thanks for posting. These were the data I was more or less trying to get at.

Yes, NY, SF and Houston are 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the world for foreign investment so those foreign business travelers are dropping major coin in those cities.
Houston did have more business travelers than leisure 320K leisure vs 480K business
