New Orleans has a lower violent crime rate than Nashville. According to you, New Orleans is simply a crime infested overrated city without distinct characteristics. As someone said earlier, New Orleans is neither overrated or underrated and people don't make up stuff about it. Meanwhile, Nashville is no more " Music City " than Atlanta, Memphis, or New Orleans as far as musical genre diversity.

Yeah, Nashville has made a lot of progress in the last 10 to 15 years, but it's still DEFINITELY overrated. It's like a wannabe Austin that's not even as nice, cool, fun, or culturally distinctive as Austin. At least New Orleans is has its own unique flavor, culture, and contributions. Don't know why she always trashes New Orleans so much. Maybe she feels threatened by it, or jealous.

I'm not going to dispute that, but I will say that St. Louis city proper doesn't look much better and actually reminds me a lot of Memphis.

Interesting. How is Atlanta overrated, in your opinion?

Offline, Austin is certainly the most overrated, though I do think it deserves more credit than people here are giving it. After all, it is pretty much the only major city in the South with a complete live-work-play downtown surrounded by some of the most accessible outdoor recreation of any American city. So it's not that Austin doesn't have several bragging points. However, it is considerably lacking in diversity and the metro area as a whole has the worst sprawl in Texas.

That's what I meant to say: How is Atlanta UNDERRATED to anyone, especially with all the hype it gets and the way it dominates the entire Southeast? I don't get that.

Atlanta dominates the entire Southeast? Ever heard of Florida? That might be true in some respect though when it comes to dominating since so many Floridians have to pass through Atlanta where we are "forced" to change planes!
