That isn't what I said.

I said mid-south or deep south. Some people do not consider there to be a "middle south" so then Little Rock would be more Deep south than upper south. It is south of the Mississippi/Tennessee border which is where I personally consider the "deep south" to begin.

That'st exactly what you said. You said you considered it mid-south or deep south. You do realize those aren't synonymous terms?

I really don't think we're having the same conversation.

If you are AA and seeking a professional AA crowd for socializing I don't think any of the cities offer near as much as Atlanta. Clarksville has a strong military presence so that might be worth looking into unless you are a pacifist.

You'd probably have to drive to Nashville for a gay scene, though.

Asheville was not included in the 2015 HRC MEI scores, nor was Roanoke. However, the highest scoring city was Lexington, KY with a score of 73, while the lowest scoring city was Huntsville with a score 5.

Typically, "Mid-South" refers to an area centered around Memphis. It includes Little Rock AR, Jonesboro AR and Jackson TN. I've seen the term used as far north as Cape Girardeau, MO. The only place I've heard the term refer to any other place is on City-Data. Upper South & Mid South are not the same thing.
