No one city in the Midwest is the top answer in every question you posed.

Detroit is the most (in)famous nationally and internationally, Minneapolis has the higher GDP and more Fortune 500 companies, Omaha (the city anyway) has the highest percentage growth estimates since 2010, etc.

Pittsburgh and Louisville are also not in the Midwest.

Right now - Minneapolis. For a city and metro of its size, it packs a great punch economically.
