Good to see KC and St. Louis on the list, disappointed not to see Indianapolis or at least Bloomington. Surprised to not see Sacramento or Cleveland.

Is it me or was that over the top lbgt oriented? Hate to sound insensitive but list is a joke.

City provides services to lgbt homeless? Uh what about the rest of the homeless not lgbt. Human rights should be ALL humans not just lgbt.

Wilton Manors is a suburb of Fort Lauderdale, and it scored 100.

Human Rights Campaign is an LGBT-specific advocacy organization... Like the way the Anti-Defamation League does not have the word Jewish in it… Not sure from your comment above if you realized that…

My husband and I recently moved from San Francisco to Albuquerque, and I would say Albuquerque has the most gay-friendly straight people I've ever encountered. In San Francisco, almost all my friends were gay, but here we are finding it so easy to make friends with straight people. It's delightful to feel so included.

Albuquerque scored only 75 out of 100 points because it lost points for not having an LGBT liaison to the mayor's office, not having an LGBT police task force, not having active legislative initiatives targeting LGBT equality, and for not having transgender-inclusive health benefits for city employees.

The first three items are somewhat irrelevant in the case of Albuquerque because gay & lesbian folks are very well integrated here and hate crimes/police issues against LGBT folks are not really an issue here. There's progress to be made on the transgender front legislatively, but that lack does not reflect animus but mainly the fact that New Mexico is a bit of a time warp and not necessarily up on current issues. It's rather charming to live in a place that is both old-fashioned and gay friendly.
