My husband got a job offer in Tucson AZ for 10 % more than he makes here in Salt Lake City metro area. I'm nervous about moving. Which is the better place to live. I have fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease and osteoarthritis. My doctors think the climate in Tucson will be much better for me. How is health care in tucson? Insurance with the new job is out of this world so no worries there. I go to a pain clinic here, can I find a good one in tucson? Nervous to move, should we go for it?!

Tucson's winter weather is usually MUCH warmer than Salt Lake. What you and your SO need to do is take a trip there and, make your choice after spending day or 2 there.
We would if we could but my husband doesn't have any vacation time left and we are both in school. I lived there until I was 13 and has visited often although the last time was quite a while ago. I loved to visit but visiting is different than living there. How it's rent/housing, and health care? He would be working for the Universityersity of Arizona.
What constitutes a good place to live is largely very personal - Tucson has it's lovers and it's detractors for reasons which generally boil down to how well the city suits those particular individuals. Every city is the same.
Health care here is pretty good - I don't use it much myself, but people I know who have needed stuff done have done so and it's worked out well for them. When I did a header into the pavement a couple of months ago I went to the Banner University Medical Center ER for a CT scan and some stitches and they were very nice, very attentive and quick. I assume that if he's working for the University that would be your go-to.
1) The COL in Tucson is significantly lower than SLC especially in housing.
2) Tucson has a medical school as well as a couple of other large hospital chains. Your conditions are not unusual and with some effort, you should be able to find the doctors you need.
I would strongly recommend that you get working on finding doctors before you come to Tucson.
I found the health care was very good in Tucson. I imagine though it can vary. I was surprised how extensive medical care was in Tucson. I say that because it seems to be a very poor city. I found because of the lack of freeways that driving was very time consuming. Many of the streets are in terrible shape. I think anyone that has lived in cold climates, immediately wonders how Tucson could have roads in such bad shape. The city does try to fix them but overall I'm not sure they can catch up. I found the rental market was very unstable and rents were far from cheap. Buying a home is the way to go in Tucson. It's cheaper than renting overall. Just be careful where you move into, as crime is on the high side. Also make sure you live where getting from A to B is the easiest for you. Again you don't want long trips on the crowded surface streets. You will be find yourself wondering. Why isn't there a proper road system in this town.
University of Arizona is a very good employer here in Tucson and they give good benefits I've heard. Not only is Tucson dirt cheap but it's cheaper than SLC and you would be making more money. U of A's medical center, not too mention the other hospitals, all do very well. I think Tucson will be good for you!
