40% of Minneapolis' black population are Somali refugees. Seriously look it up. They were relocated there by NGOs

A similarly large percentage of Minneapolis Asian population are Hmong refugees who came there the same way.

??? Most refugees have become productive citizens have reshaped inner-city neighborhoods. That said, what the hell is your problem? Whatever, the case Pittsburgh is the whiter of the 3 and it's the one losing population. End of story

Minneapolis isn't really on the radar for Blacks in particular, but I know a couple of Black folks who live there who really do like it. And it will always get cool points from me for being the home of Prince (RIP) and Mint Condition.

No one is arguing that the refugees are productive members of society. The point is that people of color are choosing to move there.

And, for the record Pittsburgh is 66% white, to Denver is 65 and Minneapolis' 70%. Yes, that's 70% white, even with a large numbers of black and Asian people being placed there.

You're wrong about the white populations. My source is the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey - 2014 Estimates. What's your source?

BTW, who cares if people are being placed or relocated? They are staying and that is what matters.

Well it does make for a very different type of dynamic compared to domestic migrants, "voluntary" immigrants, etc. It is what it is.

Obviously, Somalis aren't real black people, and they certainly didn't decide to leave their war-torn, lawless country to live in a better place. They were forced onto a plane at gunpoint and told to be cold forever and like it.

What gladhands is trying to say is Minneapolitans are supposed to feel inadequate that their city's population isn't a perfectly-even admixture of every ethnicity and human skin color on the planet. Don't you know how CD works?

I'm saying that black people are not voluntarily choosing to move to Minneapolis. They are escaping war-torn hell-holes and they are thankful for Minneapolis, hospitality. If Christian Charities had decided to relocate Somalis to Salt Lake City would have a large Somali population, and would still not be seen as an attractive destination for African-Americans, West Indians, Afro-Latinos, or actual African immigrants with choice. I don't know why that's so difficult for some people to understand.
