I think this is a good list, with one surprising exception: Denver.

As a native Denverite, the city seems very vanilla to me. This may be from growing up there and simply being used its feel. Downtown has grown exponentially and has some lovely, but mostly "international style" architecture. Denver does have many beautiful neighborhoods and parks, keeping the city in play. However, the cities listed above seem quite unique when compared with my beloved Mile High City.

I completely agree. I LOVE Denver, and as much as I do, I wouldn't put it in the Top 10. Top 20? For sure.

When did Cincinnati become a beautiful city?

Don't feel like listing reasons, but I'm only listing cities I've actually been to (as some have not done and go off of hear say) and actually experienced

Denver
Dallas
San Francisco
New Orleans
Nashville
Chicago
Seattle
Louisville
Portland
Minneapolis

Pittsburgh
Boston
Seattle
Tacoma
Miami
Portland
Cincinatti
San Francisco
San Diego
Albuquerque

Tacoma is part of the Seattle metro, but it's probably 20-25 miles closer to Mt. Rainier, which is just massive from that close.

I've been to Pittsburgh but not to Cincinatti (the only one from this list). They seem pretty similar...lots of steep green hills and valleys bisected by ravines and bridges and full of hillside architecture.

Miami and Boston are as much about buildings as setting.
