I agree, and it is more impressive how far up the list that many Chicago suburbs are found. Hinsdale, IL home of city data, made it to 39th wealthiest. What is more interesting to me is how far down super expensive towns like Beverly Hills, Malibu, San Marino and Harrison NY are. You wonder how the typical guy in Beverly Hills can afford a house there, unless there are a lot of renters around town who drag down the average.

I almost feel a sense of pride in my home state of Massachusetts that I only saw two towns on this list (unless I missed a couple). Overall it's a pretty wealthy state, but it seems that the wealth is more evenly distributed throughout the commonwealth.

Yea, I only saw Lexington and Wellesly. So how can the people in Newton, Brookline, Weston, Cohassett, Lincoln, Needham etc. afford to live in those places? I wouldn't be too proud if I were you if you reason that those places can't supply high enough incomes that correlate with the high real estate prices. I also saw that Newport Beach and all other Orange County towns except Coto de Caza did not make the list as well, even though real estate has gotten expensive there. Those places also sound like the bubble could burst without big incomes that can support the price of living there.

It's odd how WA is home to two of the richest people on the planet (Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos), yet not a single city from WA makes it in the top 100.
