I don't think this is going to be much of a contest in real life and especially not on this board, Nashville in a landslide. Nashville tourism is on par with Vegas, Miami, New Orleans, New York, LA, London, Paris and Rome, at least on this board. Not fair to compare it to a little place like Memphis.

Nashville is probably more Exciting Broadway/Beal.. but Nashville has other areas of the city that can be considered exciting like the Gulch

I think they are both somewhat historical but I'd give the edge to Memphis as being more historical with it's history with Beale Street / Blues and Memphis was traditionally the bigger city, Nashville has been growing rapidly recently.

Interesting is a vague term I'd give them a tie for that.

For any given weekend probably Nashville

Nashville has more of an exciting energy to it.
Memphis is more historical.
Memphis is more interesting.
Id rather spend a weekend in Memphis.

I am not excited by lower Broadway nor the gulch from a tourist point of view. I would rather spend time on Beal and Main. There seems to be more of a soulful flavor that I like. The civil rights museum is definitely world class and done very well. However, I am looking forward the visiting the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville.

Memphis isn't a bad place, to me it's just not on the same level as Nashville. Plus, Memphis can be a little sketchy. I've walked around Downtown Nashville way too late, way too many times after the bars and have never had an issue.
