I know these cities get compared a decent amount. They might be very different, however they are both popular destinations for young professionals. I wanted to do an updated 2019 poll to determine which is better overall. Some of the potential criteria includes the following

Downtown
Walkability
Skyline
Transportation car and public
Bars/ Restaurants
COL
QOL
Climate
Suburbs
Recreation
Scenery
Diversity
Economy
Where would you rather live?

Downtown: Seattle
Walkability: Atlanta because of the Beltline
Skyline: Seattle for sure.
Transportation car and public: Atlanta has better public transit (Not sure why people are saying Seattle does) Car transport is about the same.
Bars/ Restaurants: Tie
COL: Atlanta
QOL: Depends
Climate: Going by seasons. Wintier: Tie, Spring: Slight edge Atlanta, Summer: Seattle for sure, Fall: Solid edge Atlanta.
Suburbs: Both have good suburbs.
Recreation: Seattle. Near big mountains and the ocean.
Scenery: Atlanta is no slouch in this category, but Seattle is on another level.
Diversity: On paper probably Atlanta, however Seattle feels much more integrated.
Economy: Both are good, though it might be easier to find a job in Atlanta.
Where would you rather live?: There was a time when I would have said Atlanta hands down. However having lived in Atlanta for a bit, and having spent a lot of time in the Seattle area. I think I'm starting to lean Seattle. I think both are great places though.

In any measure of urbanity (density, transit use, etc.), Seattle would win.

In any measure of size or low cost, Atlanta would win.

I prefer Seattle. Though I do wish we had Atlanta's spine rail system, tree cover, and airport connections.

Downtown - Seattle
Walkability - Seattle
Skyline - Tie
Transportation car and public - Atlanta. ATL has a subway, light rail, and lots of freeways. They also have the World's busiest airport (I include airports in transportation categories). Not sure why so many people are picking Seattle here.
Bars/ Restaurants - Tie
COL - Atlanta by a mile
QOL - Atlanta (iMO)
Climate - Atlanta (IMO)
Suburbs - Tie. Both have good suburbs
Recreation - Overall, Atlanta
Scenery - Seattle (ATL's no slouch either. But the topography in the SEA area is incredible)
Diversity - NA
Economy - Slight edge to Atlanta. Seattle has a top-notched tech sector, but Atlanta's a more diverse economy that's really strong.
Where would you rather live? Atlanta for sure.
