I was in Hartford for a half day/day 2 years ago visiting college friends. They said it was dead.

Worcester and Lowell above Portland and Burlington or are we not including those because the topical was originally southern New England?
Because they’re NNE.

But why? If it wasn’t the original question. Seemed intentional to make it SNE

Got it—I’m surprised that Worcester and Lowell would have more to do than Hartford or other CT cites outside of New Haven, but then again, I’ve been to neither.

Also, if the Lowell line ever expanded to Nashua, would that be a big deal for Lowell? And would there ever be a chance for a second station for Lowell?

I would bet there would be one somewhere in the Highlands on the way to Chelmsford.

Yeah if we included Portland, Burlington, etc ... it would blow away all SE NE cities except Providence and Worcester.. and New Haven.

What's up with Worcester? Why is it so highly ranked? Like, what is a whirlwind romance tour of Worcester like?

10 years ago it was crap.

Now? It has a great downtown and awesome food scene. With rail service to Boston a lot of people are living in Downtown Worcester with the emerging Biotech scene so its making the area sooo much better.

In 5 years? Kelley Square will be redone, 1 million more square feet of Office Space, Polar Park redevelopment and hotel compelx will be finished, and a lot more projects that are shaping up this once crappy downtown.. to be much better.

However, with COVID, the future stuff might be off the table soon. IDK what the slowdown will look like.. but right no Worcester is pretty decent.

But Providence and New Haven are better for sure.
