I do like the Boston Common as it acts like a part of the city as its small but historical ..

AA=lso at night, I have never felt safe anywhere in/around Central Park. The Common is fine.

The Common is a good deal bigger and more centrally located than Battery Park. Columbus Park is a better Boston-equivalent for Battery Park, imo.

Anyway, here are some nice photos from the garden:

I would say Central Park is “better” but I do think the public garden is prettier

In what way? I’m not really interested in arguing; my mind’s made up and I accept that mine is the unpopular opinion. I’m just curious.

Just so much larger with running trails/biking trails...I mean it has a zoo...access to Lincoln center, met, museums, more of an iconic attraction movies etc

Stongly disagree.

Someone got shot on the common three days ago. A couple people get shot stabbed there virtually every year. Its is not fine, its been a focal point of the city's police enforcement for quite some time.

A man was beaten and robbed there February 17. Three woman robbed a man at a store across the street from the common the day before.

Police chased a a violent criminal robber through the common in September.

A kidnapping in 2018 , a shooting and 6 stabbings in 2017 Two police officer injured apprehending a parolee in 2016, a man was dealing drugs with a gun in the park in 2016 and a few midday stabbings and shootings in 2015.

Several article oncrime nin the comon bening an issue:

https://www.boston.com/news/local-ne...-that-uncommon

https://www.boston25news.com/news/in...em/1005801816/

Crime on the Common is fairly high because its mostly unlit and not used or policed at night. This like the rest of Boston proper leave people out late susceptible to victimization which is probablythe number one reason why Boston (city limits) in general has had the higher rate than NYC for 20 years..

Franklin Park was mentioned earlier as what to compare to Central. I think its closer comparison in NYC is Prospect Park.

As this is a personal reference question, I'm going with Central Park. It's big so you can wander around for quite a long while and it has great museum on its grounds.
I agree Boston Common is better than Battery Park. In fact, every time I was in Lower Manhattan, I was so into the streets and buildings and always forgot about the Battery Park completely.

Prospect park is my second favorite park in NYC after Central Park and I feel it being much bigger than Boston Common. Also the Brooklyn Botanic Garden located across the street from the prospect park is one of my favorite places to visit in Brooklyn.

There are many places in Brooklyn that are seriously underrated.

NYC proper is safer than Boston because they successfully incorporated like 1/2 their metro.

False.

It’s all urban dense and socioeconomically diverse. Much more so than Boston, so the city should have the same problems. It’s not like they annexed a bunch of Needhams and Milton . Even it’s most urban areas are safer than most of Boston. Try again.

It is true though. Everett, Chelsea, Malden, Medford, Somerville, Revere, Watertown, Quincy, Cambridge, Brookline, etc are all very safe

That’s why on a metro level Boston is safer than New York.

I’m fact last call is 1am in Everett, Chelsea and Revere and they have all the poverty and diversity of Boston but are safer, so I suppose Boston should have earlier last call if they want crime to go down.
