I am legally moving to US and very confused where I should land ( NYC vs Nova vs Seattle )
My main criteria’s in the city are
• Good Public transit till I am able to get a driving license
• Ability to rent as new comer without previous history
• Job Market for aviation industry or supply chain
• Plenty of transitional Job options to start with till I get job in my career ( etc. Grub hub , rover , Uber)
My shortlisted cities are below
NYC : My relative is there , he will assist me to get rent , plenty of app jobs but think will be too hard to get job in my career or any office job nowadays
NOVA : No connections there but it provided everything I look for and think that cleanliness and Job market are slightly better in NOVA & DC
Seattle : No connections there but it provided everything I look for , it’s the aviation industry hub but due to dull weather I would not prefer to live there unless I am sure I can get job fast
I know its not best time to move with lots of unemployment , but i am not able to delay the step.
Seattle is hiring massively in tech, and basically every major US tech company has a growing office. But the aircraft sector is losing jobs due to Boeing's problems as well as Covid.
You can live without a car here. I don't drive either. But certainly not as easily as NYC. The major tech areas all have decent transit options, aviation less so except decent bus service at the big Boeing plants.

Yes agree , so you don't recommend starting in Seattle without a Job on hand ?

I don't recommend moving to any place without a job during the middle of a pandemic unless you have a lot of savings or cash. Sounds absolutely crazy to me, especially since the aviation industry right now is DEAD.
Seattle rent is very high. First and last month rent plus security deposit can approach 10 grand easily for even a small apartment in the city.
it's my preferred option as well , but not sure how the job market is and if I will be able to rent an apartment without without any credit history or connections .

The big thing going for NoVA is that the local economy is heavily tied to the Federal Government (which is recession-proof) and its operations.
That said, Arlington and Fairfax Counties definitely check your boxes, and the COL is relatively lower than what you will encounter in Settle or NYC.
Incredible public transport, lots of demand for Grub Hub, Uber, and delivery due to COVID.
Plus, you said your relative lives in NYC.
I'm moving back to Brooklyn myself in 3 weeks. I've been going back and forth for a month, and it seems delivery food drivers are in huge demand, due to only outdoor dining being available.
Come to NYC. Most important thing for a newcomer is a support network, and you have that in New York with your relative. Get acclimated to the U.S. for a year with help of family, then look to better your career in DC or Seattle. I would stay close to family and look to DC unless you get work in Seattle that’s just too good to pass up
