Can you drive? Even if you do it'll be a while before you can work for uber or lyft even if you get your license quickly.
Since you'll be carless for a while NYC is your best bet. The fact that you know people there makes this a no brainer.

Looked at your other posts. You speak Arabic? You'll definitely fit in Houston--nobody will bat an eye while speaking Arabic. Plenty of U.K. expats too.

There is a Boeing office near NASA. I guess they concentrate more on the space portion of aerospace, but they might have some aviation positions located there too.
