What city a has both a greater national and international name recognition:Atlanta or Houston.Which do you know more about and which do you think the average world citizen knows more about?and why?It can be a negative or positive thing. What comes to mind when you think of each city? This is not an opinion on which city is better.Lets keep it simple to the one question asked only.
Atlanta has better national recognition I think may be because of certain major compaines within the city, and CNN. Though I voted for Houston because I agree that it has better international recognition.
Atlanta because of CNN and the Olympics. It's all subject to change though. Houston certainly had greater name recognition in the past when mission control was fresh on everyone's minds.
I agree. These "who's the most important city in the South" threads where interesting at first, but now it's getting kind of old. I can't imagine anyone who's heard of one of these cities and not the other.

I agree the thread just went all over the place anyway.
Well I couldn't say for sure from a national or international standpoint, but in terms of extraterrestrial recognition, Atlanta wins easily. In the film Independence Day, after New York, Los Angeles, and Washington the aliens destroy Atlanta, Chicago, and Philadelphia.
