I mean lack of gay parades, gay spots, gay neighbourhoods, etc. I don't mean a city where gays are treated badly just where there's less of it in the open as I understand the orientation exist everywhere.

Is it because of the Mormons and how are they different from most other conservative churches?

Maybe Omaha or Kansas City, someplace that's though of as being very basic and conservative.

That's the first city that popped in my mind. But I'm sure the closets are plentiful in SLC. One thing is for sure, the freaks come out at night.

And everyone has a little freak in them, of some kind or another. If not, they're not doing right.

For better or worse, Kansas City is very liberal. The suburbs, of course, tend to be more conservative.

I'm asking for replies related to the question and not a value judgement.

I would imagine wherever the Rev Fred Phelps lives (if you don't count his closet).

True, Kansas City and Omaha are far from basic and conservative. It sounds like another typical city-data poster throwing out stereotypes of places they have never been to.
