There is a show on 'Versus' network called 'City Limits Fishing with Mike Iaconelli'. Although I'm a novice fisherman, I enjoy the sport. Fellow City-Data.com Anglers, which cities would you nominate as good places for urban fishing. This includes small, medium-size, and large cities.
You can charter deep sea fishing boats in places like Miami and Galveston. A friend of mine went fishing on the Gulf Coast a few years back and caught a marlin. He had it packed on ice and shipped it to himself in Wisconsin. Needless to say he threw one hell of a backyard BBQ, with enough fish steaks to feed 20 people.
Chicago. You can go down to the lakefront and catch lake perch, after walleye the best fish there is. And there's lots of good walleye fishing around too.
I love the Bay--but I would rather not eat fish caught in it. I mean we can dress it all we want and brag about the abundance and variety-but its very polluted, and its surrounded by 7 Million people-and all their cooties.
Plus all the ship traffic that flows in and out with all the junk they bring into the bay from all over the world.
NYC. In City Island is great for fishing. They also have great seafood restaurants as well.
