Overall it would be New Jersey.

However if I won the lottery big time and did not have to work anymore I might choose to live along the central California coast or north of San Francisco.

Both states would be an improvement for you TB so good luck whichever you choose!

You must list specifics if you're going to create a city vs city thread. Not just "which is better" or "which do you like best", type of thing. You must list specific things you are comparing as it's otherwise far too vague.
