Pssst... I hear now's a good time to buy a house on the west coast. You may never have this opportunity to take advantage of these low prices ever again. You shouldn't wait until you retire.
We were going to relocate to Las Vegas, but our salaries would be pitiful there. We make a much better living in NYC metro, even though it's more expensive.
I'm confused, are you saying in NYC they burn the crusts of pizza, and that the seafood smells of diesel?? Where in the world did you eat either of those kinds of foods???

True, thanks to the mountains and water. But IME downtown Seattle can feel eerily like downtown and midtown Atlanta in places. Just an opinion, of course, but my husband agrees...he's a Seattle native, and I'm from Atlanta.
The bottom line to me is that all three of these cities have a lot to offer. Will be in Seattle next week to see friends and relatives...can't wait. I'm a total foodie, and Seattle definitely has one thing that the other two cities don't...fresh Pacific salmon. Yum.
BTW, Rachael, welcome back from your wedding and honeymoon...hope it was everything you dreamed it would be! Isn't Greece fabulous?
If Houston or Atlanta had downtowns close to Seattle's...
....or scenes like these
..then maybe I could choose Atlanta or Houston.
The shopping district pictures look like from a weekend. Must be during a big holiday during the year like Easter, Mothers' Day or Fathers' Day.
The beach looks good but it's deceptive like California's. I always warn my friends about swimming in those deceptively beautiful (frigid) beaches.
Luckily I was in San Francisco last weekend instead of being baked in the PNW. I couldn't believe the temperatures on The Weather Channel while looking out of my hotel room on a cold and cloudy San Francisco.
Jesus Christ people. It's not like Seattle is Lithuania or something. Almost 1 in 10 Seattlites is black, compared to 12% nationally. Despite not having the overinflated Black populations of most cities, they've had a Black mayor.

Great, but I perfer a city with a thriving black population. I don't see that with Seattle. It's very white compared to ATL and HOU.
